Oh Helmut Smits, you funny, funny man.

Smits figures that an 82 cm x 82 cm square would be the same as one pixel when looking down 1km up. So he burned a square in the exact dimensions in order to make a dead pixel in Google Earth. It’s too bad you cannot see it until Google snaps the picture with their all-seeing satellite.

Happy Holiday’s…What, it’s over already?

February 6th, 2009 | 2 comments

As you may know, every year I make an interactive holiday card for everyone. This year it had to be late. In December, I was kicking around an idea that would incorporate some of the new A.I that I have been playing with. While at work, I shared the idea and my coworkers loved it. They loved it so much that they wanted it too. So for the past few months I have been scrambling to put together a combined mine/company christmas card by trying to breathe life into one of our coworkers. I am aware that questions are starting to form in your mind because of my last statement. All will be answered once you go to the site.

Here it is:Talk to Dewey

I Made A Jarvis

October 13th, 2008 | 11 comments

Last weekend I was watching Iron Man when a brilliant idea hit me. Tony Starks, played by Robert Downey Jr., is a technological genius. What impressed me was his Artificial Intelligent butler named Jarvis. I got goosebumps while watching Starks interact with him. Starks would give him commands and converse with him. Jarvis would complete the task or give Starks feedback. It was absolutely fascinating and seeing it made me want it. So I set out to build my own Jarvis.

Hipster Rebuttal

Ok, Justin is over exaggerating here because I have only dragged him into Urban on 2 separate occasions and I knew what I wanted each time (I wasn’t browsing). He is also over exaggerating about the emails as well, I hardly ever forward him emails like the one shown in his post. If anything he is the master of email forwards at work!! Quite the distraction.

Justin’s Face Fur

October 7th, 2007 | 4 comments

Ok, sooo I brought this upon myself. I placed a little bet, if you will, a few weeks ago with Justin. I basically dared him to grow out a mustache and mutton chops, thinking it would be a very embarrassing process and experience for him. So a few days go, by days become weeks, and Justin’s face starts to transform into this massively bear-like hairy head. Although he didn’t stick with the chops he did keep the mustache. Eventually I asked him to shave it, I gave up, he won. I’m sorry but i couldn’t help myself, it was too painful to watch (let alone touch). Every time i look into his eyes all I could see was……well, a visual is always worth a thousand words. See for yourself ladies and germs.

Summer - bringing the “hip” back to the island….

August 19th, 2007 | 2 comments

I turned 25 (its dooooooowwnnnn hill from here kiddies)…looking for new work/not looking for new work and studying for my GREs, getting the application process rolling. i do not understand the logic of the admissions processes for higher education institutions.

I give them 150 for an application fee, 150 to take the standardized test that they require of me, the 30 fee to obtain my college transcripts (you see the debits my banking account must suffer in this long arduous process)…all they need is a pint of my plasma than I may have a chance of acceptance…dec 15th is the deadlines for the clinical psych program (wish me luck)

I saw Sonic Youth perform Daydream Nation at McCarren Park Pool, it brought tears to my eyes, since it was something i never thought I would have the opportunity to experience in my lifetime

And last but not least I’m just settling into my new apartment in the old hood, i honestly never thought I would live in Staten Island again, however, the rent is awesome and the space is kick ass (I actually have a real bathroom and bedroom with WINDOWS!!!), so i can make due for a short time. Brooklyn will always hold a special place in my heart (or as my dad prefers “the cockles of my heart”), but after the money has been saved i will return (and hire movers this time)
