Today we celebrate. Let us raise our glasses to the first semester conquered. For the past few months I have been in my cave studying my pants off. For those that do not know the story, I have decided to return to school and finally get that piece of paper that says I am somewhat a member of society. I have chosen Hunter to fulfill this need and I have been enjoying every moment.
It has its requirements of course. Working full time and taking nine credits has taken its toll on me. The French alone is enough to kill me but reading Descarte, Kant, and Frankfurt in philosophy make up for it.
Deciding to go to school six years later truly has its benefits. After high school I hated everything that was considered to be academic. I would not have put in the time and effort I am putting into it now. However those six years allowed me to experience the real world and make a better decision for my future. Even if It is going to take me 4 to 10 years to get there.
This semester recap includes: Barley surviving French 101 (Est-ce que vous parlez français? Est-ce que vous pouvez aider moi practique?) but it is safe to say I understand a good amount of French. After todays final I hope to get my first “A” ever in Math. Lastly, philosophy will blow your mind; Read it.
Here’s to more stress and sleepless nights. Here here!

Good job, my man!!! Better late than never - at least you got an earlier start than Mr. Fayer did. Looking forward to seeing you around the neighborhood again - at least til the next semester begins.

Hey! Bravo for going back to school
I didn’t know you had decided to do that. One of these days I will finish what I started forever ago and get my degree. I have to agree with you though about going to school so many years after high school. I actually enjoy the classes I take and I appreciate education and it’s benefits so much more now. Congrats on finishing your first semester back!

Congrats Justin, I did not know that you were going back to school. I remember my first semester back at school I took about two hours of a philosophy class and I didn’t understand anything and the professor was a total tool. He let everyone go have a break and I walked straight to the office and dropped my class and took Rock and Roll history instead. Best decision I ever made.
I am a little scared about school too. I finished at the community college three years ago and never went back because I got married and Chelsea was enrolled at ASU and we couldn’t afford to have both of us in school. Now she is all done and so it’s my turn to start. I begin at ASU in the fall, and I am very nervous. Congrats again, you have inspired me and who knows, maybe I will even take a philosophy class.
